Toppan impresses visitors with decorative printing technology from the interior decor industry
Japanese company Toppan is exhibiting for the first time to extend its expertise to the automotive industry. “We are thinking of the whole interior concept and solution – we try to bring functionality to printed products,” explained Yasuaki Okita, design manager at Toppan. “Our root is printing and surface textures, enabling us to recreate real wood surfaces or patterns. Although new to the car interiors industry, we are combining our decorative printing technology with future automotive applications. New Spanish Pavilion debuts innovative solutions
Several firms and innovation centers – including Cedrion – have joined ICEX, the Spanish Trade Commission, to present state-of-the-art solutions at its booth and the Innovation Showcase. “Automotive Interiors Expo is a great opportunity for the firms to get acquainted with the main market trends, while showing their innovations to a highly specialized audience of professionals,” explained Lucinio Muñoz, ICEX representative. TITV presents innovative e-textiles shaping the future of car interiors
TITV’s centerpiece at his year’s expo is an interior car door panel featuring advanced e-textile functionalities in combination, including integrated LED lighting, heating capabilities and polymer optical fiber (POF) technology. Speaking at the Innovation Showcase where she is due to present this afternoon, project manager Isabelle Grimm stated, “As the journey toward automated and connected driving accelerates, vehicle interiors are being reimagined, with global trends enhancing ambiance, comfort and functionality. DNP presents exciting solution for the automotive plastic industry
Dai Nippon Printing is presenting its monomaterial PP decoration film at this year’s expo, both at its booth and in the New Product Zone. Hide Anzai, design and marketing manager, explained, “Designed to adhere to PP resin during injection molding, the film aids in car-to-car recycling, aligning with upcoming EU regulations. New generation of design mesh for day and night
Haver & Boecker is showing visitors its next-generation mesh in different situations, including the mesh seen at night (backlit) and during the day. “The next step is to combine the design and the function,” revealed Constantin Ostberg, head of business unit filters and fabricated parts, Haver and Boecker. “Some customers prefer to have the haptic feeling in the mesh and an intensive experience.” Find out more at Booth 1324
AI-supported damage analysis on decorated plastic components
Jörg Günther, managing director of KIMW Prüf- und Analyse, spoke yesterday afternoon on utilizing an AI-supported solution in cooperation with AI specialist d.velop AG to find solutions to problems quickly and comprehensively. Speaking after his presentation, he said, “I moderated the morning session and the topic on AI was not directly touched on. However, we talked about topology optimization of geometries, which is a system: intelligence is used, but not named as such, it’s computer-added engineering. Nowadays you can say it’s artificial intelligence. In my opinion, we must know the borders from what is possible and what is not possible.” Find out more at Booth 1442.
CTAG presents innovations to maximize cabin thermal comfort
Vanessa Ventosinos Louzao, senior researcher at CTAG, spoke during the afternoon session dedicated to innovative solutions from Spain. “Optimization of AC systems is critical, especially in electric vehicles,” she stated. “40% of energy can be consumed on cabin thermal comfort, particularly in winter climates. CTAG’s patented radiant coating is easily applied on any surface and allows for heat sources in areas with the greatest impact on comfort, saving up to 17% on energy.
