The Automobili Pininfarina Pura Vision design concept has been recognized with the Red Dot Award for Design Concept 2024.
The Red Dot Award is known internationally for its stringent criteria in evaluating design quality and innovation. The judging panel, composed of designers, professors and specialist journalists, selected Pura Vision for its excellence in design. This achievement follows Automobili Pininfarina’s previous wins, including at the iF Design 2024 product awards and the 2024 International Design Awards.
Design features
Pura Vision is a luxury utility vehicle (LUV) that merges traditional aesthetics with futuristic elements, with cab-rear proportions that, the company says, “combine timeless beauty with exquisite detailing” to give the vehicle a dynamic presence.
A glasshouse and tri-opening pillarless lounge doors provide unrestricted access to a luxurious 2+2 cabin, drawing inspiration from the pillarless design of the Lancia Florida.
The concept has a low hood and high fenders, inspired by the iconic 1947 Cisitalia, and intricate details such as an anodized aluminum beltline around the glasshouse, starting at the windshield and forming an elegant unbroken arc around the vehicle.
Dave Amantea, chief design officer at Automobili Pininfarina, said, “Winning the Red Dot Award: Design Concept is a huge honor for the brand and testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team. Pura Vision embraces the DNA of iconic vehicles from Pininfarina’s past, to shape the future with sharp lines and a modern aesthetic. It is distinctive from every angle and showcases our Pura design philosophy which is inspiring the next generation of our cars.”
