Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) has promoted Steve Basra to the role of group vice president, connected technologies.
In his dual role, also serving as chief operating officer, Basra oversees the design, development and implementation of the company’s connected car ecosystem. He will continue to report to Zack Hicks who holds the roles of executive vice president, digital transformation and mobility, and chief digital officer.
Hicks said, “Through our continuous improvement philosophy, Steve has inspired and challenged our teams to further explore the future of enhanced and predictive safety and convenience services.”
Previously serving as vice president, connected technologies, since October 2017, Basra led efforts to enhance the customer’s in-vehicle experience. He oversaw the transformation and expansion of the Connected Technologies group.
