Honda will equip all European models with advanced connectivity technologies, starting with My Honda+ and Honda Personal Assistant.
The My Honda+ smartphone keeps owners connected to their car, providing access to functions including comfort, convenience and security features.
It controls vehicle security including locking and unlocking the car, and for Honda e owners, an additional digital key function allows vehicle access to be shared with up to five others.
In case of a breakdown, My Honda+ includes a Digital Roadside Assistance feature, directly contacting the driver’s roadside assistance provider with the location being shared via GPS.
If the airbags are deployed, the vehicle’s location is automatically shared with the relevant emergency services.
Honda e owners benefit from EV-specific functions to monitor charging and schedule when the vehicle is charged based on the most cost-effective energy tariffs.
Honda Personal Assistant offers voice control, using natural, smart instruction-based conversations and contextual understanding through artificial intelligence.
The Japanese manufacturer says Honda Personal Assistant can handle complexity beyond other voice activated virtual assistants, including understanding multiple requests at any one time.
Tom Gardner, senior vice president, Honda Motor Europe, said, “Honda’s development of next-generation connectivity can clearly be seen with the launch of features such as Honda Personal Assistant and My Honda+. We are committed to widening the availability of these features to meet the expectation of our customer.”
