The latest Mercedes-Benz models can now use Parkopedia’s parking reservation and payment services in over 5,000 locations in North America. The MBUX infotainment system from the German OEM uses Parkopedia data and in-car payment technology to make the process of locating, reserving and paying for parking simpler and more efficient.
Parkopedia’s announcement builds on the companies’ business relationship which began in 2018, with Mercedes-Benz owners now able to access Parkopedia’s parking information – consisting of opening times, restrictions, costs and height restrictions – directly through their infotainment system in compatible vehicle models. Mercedes’s latest MBUX system and head unit benefits from improved parking search functionality to locate parking places close to points of interest or a vehicle’s location.
Drivers of Mercedes-Benz vehicles can pay for parking in a total of 14 European countries, including Germany, Spain, France, Italy and Portugal.
Integration into the OEM’s latest infotainment system enables drivers to benefit from Parkopedia’s parking data, dynamic availability predictions and in-car transactions, enabling drivers to easily find, reserve and navigate to parking spots before paying from inside their vehicle. The system can also be used to search for specific parking locations or parking lots nearby. Other features include being able to pre-book parking trips via the infotainment system.
“Parkopedia and Mercedes-Benz have a well-established and successful global partnership spanning over half a decade,” explained Markus Dohl, VP of sales and business development Europe at Parkopedia. “We are pleased to be building upon this further with the latest roll-out of desirable connected parking services into North America and expanding our coverage in Europe.”
