As vehicles continue to become more complex with software-defined and connected technologies, Visteon continues to align its portfolio with this automotive evolution with an array of smart, digital cockpit solutions.
At CES 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada, last week, Visteon exhibited a range of technologies to enable OEMs to design and build safer and increasingly connected vehicles that deliver enhanced interior experiences for occupants. The company is now using the latest silicon technologies and vision features to create the digitized vehicles of tomorrow.
Visteon’s digital cockpit platforms, the Lightscape Panorama Display and the Command & Control Display, aim to create an immersive user experience by integrating consumer technologies, active privacy and sunlight readability, all while using very little power.
The Lightscape Panorama Display is an advanced pillar-to-pillar, multi-display which delivers superior image quality and user interaction. The Command & Control Display is a driver-centric, technology-forward dash display which blends the lower display into the surrounding materials when the display is inactive. When a user’s hand approaches it, the reconfigurable surface turns back on.
Additional technologies from Visteon, which were also on display at CES, include the company’s power saving One Watt Display, and Active Privacy, which prevents a driver from being distracted by passenger content.
Visteon’s SmartCore cockpit platform architecture was also exhibited and represent a shift in EV architecture to a computing platform. The solution has been designed to suit a range of applications from entry-level to high-end cockpits with several silicon choices. The SmartCore Gen 4 cockpit delivers driver and surround view monitoring for enhanced safety, personalized interfaces, gaming and multi-display entertainment, augmented reality navigation and a multitude of other features.
“Vehicles and mobility are rapidly changing, and Visteon is developing the technology that will allow auto makers to create exciting and compelling in-vehicle experience,” said Sachin Lawande, president and CEO, Visteon. “Visteon’s award-winning cockpit technologies are developed holistically, enabling auto makers to provide a comprehensive set of differentiated features while accelerating time to market.”
