Hyundai Motor Company has announced the appointment of Eduardo Ramírez as the new chief designer of Hyundai Design Europe, effective June 1.
Ramírez will lead the Hyundai Design Europe Center, with a focus on reinforcing the company’s “design competitiveness in the fast-changing global automotive industry”, providing “customer-centric design innovation” and delivering a unique customer experience.
Ramírez holds degrees from Coventry University and the Royal College of Art. He began his career as an exterior designer at Audi before moving to General Motors. Ramírez joined the Hyundai Design Europe Center in 2007 and has since played a key role in designing significant models for the European market, including the i10, KONA, Bayon and Santa Fe.
Ramírez said, “I believe in the power of design to signal ways forward and I am committed to inspire and empower our designers to think boldly and deliver the answers that will spark the emotions of our customers in the future.”
