Automobili Pininfarina has revealed the Pura Vision design concept, an electric luxury utility vehicle (e-LUV) that will form the basis of the manufacturer’s next generation of pure electric luxury vehicles. The concept’s cabin features a flat floor and an expansive interior space – made possible due to the electric drivetrain – with light let in by a panoramic glass roof.
Francesco Cundari, interior design director, Automobili Pininfarina, said, “Pura Vision showcases a future generation of elegant Automobili Pininfarina interiors where clients are cocooned in tailored comfort, with elevated visibility and exquisite material choices. It combines the personality of a sports car with the space and comfort of a luxury vehicle.”
The Pura Vision features a “technology-rich cabin” with a central touchscreen, advanced digital instrumentation and a head-up display. These can all be customized to meet the driver’s personal taste. When not required, the central display can be stowed within the center console to minimize distraction. Additional features include speakers in the headrests for individual sound zones, and a wine cooler between the rear seats.
Each of the four seats is upholstered in white and the dashboard and door tops are covered in a white charcoal leather to deliver a 360° accent around the interior. Automobili Pininfarina has also opted to use a mixture of soft semi-aniline leather mixes and a signature textile fabric throughout the cabin, combined with exposed carbon fiber and anodized aluminum.
The OEM’s signature textile – featured on the center console, upper seatbacks and headlining – is made up of 30% Nativa wool and 70% recycled polyester and Automobili Pininfarina used waste aluminum from the wheels to craft protective kickplates for the door sills.
“Materials are more than just a cover – they represent the very fabric of our vehicles,” said Sara Campagnolo, color and materials design director, Automobili Pininfarina. “In keeping with our Pura design philosophy, Pura Vision uses the fewest and highest quality materials possible, as efficiently as possible, to create a highly tailored, timeless and sustainable finish.”
