The Peugeot i-Cockpit is celebrating its 10th birthday, having first appeared in the SR1 concept car in 2010.
The i-Cockpit first went into production in the Peugeot 208 and as it has evolved, it has retained the compact steering wheel, head-up instrument display, large HD touchscreen and a series of piano keys for direct and permanent access to the main comfort functions.
It focuses on the driver’s eyes, hands and body, with information in the driver’s line of sight. Materials are pleasant to touch with the passenger compartment forming a cockpit that wraps around its occupants.
Most Peugeots have an i-Cockpit including the 208 and e-208; the 2008 and e-2008 SUV; the 308 and 308 SW; the 3008 SUV and 5008 SUV; the 508 and 508 SW; and the Rifter.
In the center of the dashboard, there is a 10in touchscreen – depending on the version – that is operated via a direct touch next to the toggle switches and with a voice control system.
