The Nissan Rogue has undergone a digital makeover for the 2021 model year – with specialist Visteon supplying the digital cluster technology as one of three in-car displays.
Visteon says that its cockpit solution, with a 12.3in customizable display, delivers more than just speed and revs per minute. With a selection of Ethernet features, the cluster incorporates next-level navigation with high definition maps, ADAS visualization features and in-vehicle infotainment elements with music and album art.
The digital cluster represents a number of new developments for Visteon. For example, it is the first solution with a fully reconfigurable digital cluster capable of 60 frames per second (FPS) for the gauge pointer. The cluster is also the first to utilize CGI Studio as the graphics toolchain and is the standard-bearer for implementing graphical user interface (GUI) dimming.
Matthew Cole, senior vice president, product delivery, commented, “Presenting a number of firsts for the company, the digital reconfigurable cluster in the Nissan Rogue is a truly pioneering solution that demonstrates Visteon’s excellent capabilities and delivers critical driver information with state-of-the-art architecture and design.
“The product is a result of strong collaboration between Visteon and the customer and the number of future Nissan models the software is planned for shows the value of Visteon’s cutting-edge technology.”
