Following the launch of the G9 SUV and P7 Sedan in key European markets on February 3, XPeng has outlined details of the “immersive cabin experience” that the two vehicles offer.
A wraparound design has been used within both models to create a warm and comfortable environment for occupants, complemented by high-quality finishing and materials. The model’s front seats are ergonomically designed for maximum comfort and benefit from heating and ventilation functions. To enhance the audio experience, the P7 and G9 can be configured with a Dynaudio sound system which produces up to 860W and 2150W respectively.
Both Xpeng models feature the upgraded in-car Xmart Operating System (OS) which benefits from a new 3D user interface (UI) that supports English, Dutch, Danish, Norwegian and Swedish). The OS also comes with the improved “Hey, XPeng” voice assistant, which can distinguish complex voice commands from all four zones of the cabin. These services are supported by wide infotainment screens and a library of in-car apps.
To ensure both software and firmware can be improved over time, the G9 and P7 also support over-the-air updates.
TuneIn partners with XPeng for live in-vehicle audio streaming
In addition to the vehicle launch, TuneIn – a live-streaming audio service – has signed a new partnership deal with the Chinese smart EV company. Through the new partnership, the TuneIn app will be integrated into XPeng’s line-up of vehicles including its flagship sedan and SUV models.
TuneIn is working to integrate digital radio and podcasts in new EVs, with XPeng vehicles now benefitting from access to live sports, 24-hour newscasts, continuous music and podcasts from around the world. These will all be delivered following seamless integration with the OEM’s infotainment system. Following integration, passengers and drivers will be able to easily select and play audio using both touch and voice control.
Having recently expanded its sales into Norway, Denmark, Sweden and the Netherlands, XPeng will make TuneIn’s service available to new vehicles in these countries.
“Our partnership with XPeng is representative of TuneIn’s commitment to delivering global radio to drivers and passengers in EVs and all vehicles. Commercial-free radio stations from around the world will soon be available to every XPeng owner in the EU. We couldn’t be more pleased,” said Richard Stern, CEO, TuneIn. “The relationship with XPeng marks another exciting expansion in the automotive category, benefiting drivers and passengers in multiple countries.”
“We’re strongly committed to the mission for a sustainable future for all. It’s our mission to work with the best of the best to create an elevated driving experience for our customers,” said Eric Xu, vice president of XPeng Europe. “We’re confident that TuneIn will be able to deliver our drivers a best-in-class audio experience for many years to come.”
