Hyundai has revealed interior details of its latest offering, the 2022 Staria MPV. The OEM says an inside-out approach was applied to the vehicle’s design process, in which designers started with the interior aspects and then moved to the exterior of the car.
The method resulted in what Hyundai says is a well-thought-out interior space, with large panoramic windows to give the cabin a spacious feel, and low belt lines that run the length of the MPV, a nod to the traditional hanok style of Korean architecture.
Seating arrangements are customizable, ranging from a two-seater configuration all the way up to an 11-seater layout for multiple-occupancy travel. The high-end Staria Premium variant includes exclusive levels of trim and further upgrades, and can be purchased in a seven-, nine-, or 11-seater configuration.
The 2022 interior upgrades include a 10.25in infotainment screen set into the center of the dashboard, and a digital speedo cluster above the steering wheel to provide drivers with a range of information.
SangYup Lee, senior vice president and head of global Hyundai design, commented, “Staria is Hyundai’s first mass-produced vehicle model that is designed with the ‘inside-out’ design approach. Staria will provide a completely new experience and value proposition to customers through its unprecedented design and innovative features.”
