SPARQ OS is an IVI solution developed by P3 based on an android automotive operating system (OS). P3 has teamed up with Road.Travel, a provider of curated electronic travel guides and information for navigation systems, to integrate SPARQ OS IVI into Road.Travel’s app.
The Road.Travel app delivers journey guidance and tourist information, providing drivers and passengers with curated routes and useful ancillary information. Drivers of vehicles running SPARQ OS IVI can now browse, select and follow any of Road.Travel’s curated itineraries directly through their car navigation systems.
What’s more, SPARQ OS’s cockpit platform includes an app store, smart navigation, digital and personal voice assistant, charging, media and entertainment. As explained by P3, it features fully automated over-the-air software and firmware updates.
Alongside visual display of content, Road.Travel also features voice narration which informs and entertains the vehicle’s occupants with live commentary on scenery, or historical landmarks and other attractions while traveling.
P3 has integrated Road.Travel with Sygic GPS Navigation, to deliver GPS navigation functions including offline mapping functionalities and other information, such as speed limit warnings and live traffic information.
Also core to the SQARQ OS IVI platform is P3’s ElectricRoutes, which allows drivers to personalize their navigation route and allows route adjustment based on vehicle charge and the surrounding environment.
Nikita Dedik, founder and CEO of Road.Travel, said “P3 and Road.Travel share the vision and objective to transform the in-vehicle environment through technical innovation to make driving an experience of education and enjoyment, far beyond simply traveling from point A to point B.”
Marius Mailat, CTO and managing director of P3 digital services, added, “We’re really excited to partner with Road.Travel to bring its compelling curated travel guides to our OEM customers, and enhance the driving experience for people inside their vehicles.”
