As part of expansion plans in India, Pioneer – a developer of digital entertainment products including automotive soundsystems – will establish research and development facilities at Pioneer India in Gurugram and Bengaluru to accelerate the development of products and services for the country’s automotive sector. The company will also expand the training of its engineers to bolster R&D.
By expanding R&D at Pioneer’s Indian headquarters in Gurugram and the Bengaluru office, the company aims to foster growth in infotainment, safety and security products, telematics and connected solutions for the automotive market, including EVs and two-wheelers.
“We are very pleased to announce the establishment of a new R&D center in India,” said Shiro Yahara, president and CEO of Pioneer. “We are confident that we will be able to provide new mobility experiences not only in the Indian market but also globally by establishing a system to provide products and services in a timely manner in the fast-growing Indian market.”
“Pioneer’s expansion in India aligns with its long-term business goals and strategies by tapping into the fast-growing Indian automotive market,” added Hideaki Ishii, managing director of Pioneer India. “It enables Pioneer to establish a local presence for product development, targeting the specific needs of Indian consumers and leveraging the potential for growth in the country.”
The India-based R&D teams will work in collaboration with the company’s technology development centers in Japan and additional countries to develop new products and solutions for the Indian and global markets.
