Porsche says it has introduced several enhancements to the infotainment system fitted to its latest models, updating the sixth generation of the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system.
The new features include native integration of Spotify for the first time, a revised interface design, additional optimization of the Voice Pilot voice assistant, wireless Android Auto connection and improvements to the planning application for charging stops in electrified models.
Porsche notes that new colored icons make the functions of the revised PCM 6.0 user interface easier to recognize, an improvement reportedly driven by customer suggestions. In addition to a clearer display, the PCM update improves the scope of the Voice Pilot. The integrated voice assistant now provides easier access to information such as news, the vehicle operating manual and in-car music streaming.
Porsche drivers will also have direct access to Spotify without having to use a smartphone. The app also displays all their personal favorites including saved playlists, in addition to a new Go to Radio option, which looks for a piece of music similar to the one currently playing.
