Škoda is partnering with digital newspaper and magazine reading app Readly to offer owners free access to the brand’s extensive library of content. Škoda owners can utilize two months of free reading on the Readly app – the first of its kind in the automotive market.
The offer will be available to new Škoda customers as well as owners who purchased a new model within the last four years. Customers also need a compatible online infotainment system with a display larger than nine inches.
For two months, the owners have unlimited access to Readly’s library of 7,700 digital magazines and newspapers. To activate, owners need to scan a QR code shown in the Offers menu of their vehicle’s infotainment system. Once scanned, owners can use their smartphone or tablet to access a Readly landing page where they can start their free access. After the two-month free period has expired, owners can opt to pay for a full subscription costing £12.99 per month or cancel.
Marie-Sophie von Bibra, chief marketing officer at Readly, said, “New car owners love to explore their new car console so it’s the perfect treat to keep the family happily reading or doing puzzles on an ipad or mobile while on long car journeys, to relax when at a stopover or charging point, or read about all the new features and travel tips in the breadth of automobile and travel titles on the Readly app too.”
The Offers infotainment app is fully integrated into Škoda’s in-car system and is activated with just a few clicks on the screen followed by an email confirmation. The app is designed to inform owners of offers and deals to help them save money.
