Automotive Interiors Expo exhibitor MacDermid Enthone has announced that Arlington Plating Company (APC) has been awarded a DecoKlad MT specification. Chrissy Pullara, responsible for Americas decorative business development and product manager for MacDermid Enthone, presented the specification to Rich Macary, president of APC on October 29.
DecoKlad MT is a quality supplier partnership program for decorative coatings. It offers consistency in finishing performance by defining line-auditing parameters and coating measurement techniques. This facilitates global uniformity for factors such as adhesion, color, corrosion resistance and gloss levels, which in turn enables automotive manufacturers to standardize global technical performance requirements.
DecoKlad MT products are specified by global automotive manufacturers including Fiat Chrysler, Ford, GM, PSA, Renault, Volkswagen, Audi and Toyota. Performance specifications include: end finish with hexavalent or trivalent chromium; a quality controlled pre-treatment system for metals; processing capability for iron, cast iron, copper and copper alloys, aluminum alloys and zinc diecast substrates; and audit and inspection reports ready to be integrated into a quality database.
APC, based in Palatine, Illinois, provides mechanical polishing, chemistry-based electroplating and anodizing services for a variety of industries. Applications include exterior automotive, motorcycle, medical, heavy truck and consumer product components. Earlier this year APC became the second USA-based applicator to receive a DecoKlad License. Arlington says that its achievement of its DecoKlad MT specification is an example of its commitment to excellence.
