At the International Suppliers Fair in Wolfsburg, Germany on October 11-13, 2022, automotive adhesive tape manufacturer Lohmann is showing its adhesive solutions for the vehicle industry which cater for ever-advancing mobility platforms and interiors.
With the automotive industry having set strict emission limits for materials and components within vehicle cabins, it’s important for even unseen components, such as tapes and adhesives, to adhere to rules and regulations.
Lohmann’s double-sided pressure-sensitive tapes, named the DuploCOLL LE (Low Emission) range, meet the requirements for low VOC, fogging and odor values which are set by OEMs. The product also complies with the limits for substances according to VDA 278.
As vehicle interiors become increasingly digitized, many components and surfaces are being installed such as infotainment systems which are equipped with multifunctional or decorative surfaces. To ensure these solutions are free from screws or clips, the Lohmann tapes are flexible and can adapt to differing shapes of many components from wood panels, plastic trim pieces or other materials. Furthermore, the LE tapes benefit from a high initial adhesion and strength, and a high level of temperature resistance.
The company’s range includes a selection of transfer, paper, scrim, film and foam tapes in thicknesses ranging from 0.09 mm-0.8 mm, on rolls, spools or die-cuts.
The company’s tapes are based on UV acrylates for enhanced levels of adhesion and are manufactured using its 100% solvent-free TwinMelt technology. During the production process a reduced amount of energy is used and the tapes benefit from recyclable liners to lower the manufacturing and overall carbon footprint.
