Mutares SE & Co. is to acquire NBHX Trim Europe from Ningbo Lawrence Automotive Interiors Co., a subsidiary of Ningbo Huaxiang Electronic Co. (NBHX). This will strengthen Mutares’s automotive and mobility segment and serve as an add-on to the Matikon Group, which develops kinematic components for vehicle interiors and exteriors. NBHX Trim Europe supplies decorative surfaces for automotive cabins using materials such as aluminum, wood, carbon, leather and injection-molded plastics.
Johannes Laumann, CIO of Mutares, commented, “With the acquisition of NBHX Trim Europe, we are strengthening our automotive and mobility segment in the area of interiors. We see significant synergies with Matikon and expect to be able to exploit significant synergy potential to increase operational performance through the use of our Mutares operations team. This add-on acquisition is a significant step in expanding our global footprint in interior applications for the global automotive industry.”
The deal is subject to customary approvals, including clearance from the Chinese government, the NBHX board, its shareholders and merger control authorities. It is expected to be complete in the second quarter of 2025.
