Mercedes-Benz has upgraded the Vito van, adding a new infotainment system and improved visibility.
The upgraded Vito uses digital radio reception for all radio options, and introduces the new Audio 30 infotainment system as standard, with the Audio 40 as an option.
Both Audio 30 and 40 have a 7in touchscreen with smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The navigation system can be controlled via the screen on the Audio 40 system. Mercedes PRO Connect provides the navigation system with live traffic information for the first time.
The screen on the Audio 30 and Audio 40 also serves as a monitor if the 180° reversing camera has been selected.
Bluetooth connectivity provides audio streaming and hands-free functionality and the USB interface allows mobile devices to be charged.
The digital inside rearview mirror improves visibility by transmitting the image from the HDR camera in the rear window to the mirror’s display. In poor visibility the camera transmits a sharp image onto the high-resolution 1600×320-pixel TFT LCD screen, which Mercedes-Benz also says is helpful in car parks and in the rain.
Pia Herkewitz, product/marketing management for Mercedes-Benz Midsize Vans, said, “The Vito is still uncompromising when it comes to operating costs or the desire for low emissions. As before, the payload and diversity of variants are among the best in the segment. The new infotainment offerings also meet the increased demands of our commercial customers.”
