The 2025 Volvo EX90 will feature a high-end audio system developed by Bowers & Wilkins and Abbey Road Studios. It will be the first car to offer the Abbey Road Studios mode.
The new mode will only be available with the optional Bowers & Wilkins sound system. It captures the characteristics of Abbey Road’s studio spaces, equipment and processes to create a unique experience. The mode also allows listeners to configure their sound, using settings developed with Abbey Road’s engineers.
The natural sound of the studios was captured through measurements from live spaces and control rooms, plus the tonality of Abbey Road’s EMI-era equipment and the expertise of its engineers. There are four presets available, offering settings for different listening styles. There is also a customizable Producer mode.
The dedicated sound mode will be available in 2025 as an over-the-air free software update for all EX90s with the Bowers & Wilkins sound system. The specification of the sound system includes seven Continuum cone midrange drivers, five Nautilus double-dome tweeters and eight aluminum-domed headrest and ceiling speakers. There’s also a central tweeter on top of the dashboard.
