Sound tech company Focal has updated its K2 Power line, adding speaker drivers that deliver pure hi-fi sound to the range.
The K2 line was launched with the creation of the iconic yellow cone in 1986. The updates mark the fourth generation of K2 Power audio kits, dedicated to car and music lovers.
Manufactured in Focal’s workshops, the range includes 10 products: a coaxial kit, five two-way component kits, one three-way component kit and three subwoofers.
Features include kits fitted with a FRAK tweeter to give the system unprecedented dynamics. Designed like a speaker driver, the kits provide a unique sound experience inside the vehicle. Equipped with an ‘M’-profile cone, the kits combine aluminum with magnesium, working together to elevate the high-performance treble and enabling enhanced frequency lowering.
Further developments include the creation of shallow depth kits, SUB 25 KXS and ES 165 K2S, designed to be highly compact without losing energy.
In terms of design, the K2 Power has a black finish to highlight the K2 cone and a black textured finish on the TKME tweeter. Also composed of a K2 sandwich cone in aramid fiber, the TKME tweeter has an ‘M’-profile enabling better control of cone deformation and precise reproduction of high frequencies up to 22kHz.
