Italian sports car manufacturer Lamborghini has partnered with Sonus Faber – an audio brand owned by McIntosh Group – to equip the Lamborghini Revuelto with an exclusive Sonus Faber audio system.
The Lamborghini Revuelto is the first vehicle from the auto maker to feature the Sonus Faber automotive audio system, co-developed by Sonus Faber’s R&D and design department and Lamborghini Centro Stile. The audio system has been designed to enhance the driving experience by delivering natural, clear and detailed sound.
“The collaboration with Lamborghini is an extremely important milestone for Sonus Faber, further expanding the brand into the luxury car segment” said Fiore Cappelletto, VP and GM of automotive at McIntosh Group.
The system includes seven speakers, each crafted from natural fiber composite materials and featuring an exclusive phase plug design. Additionally, a new Full Class D amplifier, combined with a powerful DSP, delivers up to 750W, to ensure “smooth transitions between electrical signals and acoustical tones”, Lamborghini says.
The center channel speaker is designed for optimal sound distribution, using a compact design with a neodymium engine to enhance clarity and reduce space.
For surround sound, two full-range speakers positioned behind the pilot and co-pilot enhance the depth and richness of the audio, creating an immersive environment. Each door features a midwoofer and tweeter in a two-way system, similar to high-fidelity home speakers. The midwoofers cover frequencies from 30Hz to 15,000Hz, while the tweeters handle high frequencies up to 30,000Hz.
The tuning process was handled by Sonus Faber artisans, who listened to various music genres to balance and refine the output sound.
Cappelletto said, “Working on the Revuelto has been exhilarating yet challenging given the cabin’s restrictions and the sound of their incredible V12 behind the seats. Thanks to the joint work between the teams in Sant ’Agata and Vicenza, the journey has been remarkable, and we hope to transfer our passion at Sonus Faber to every Revuelto customer.”
Christian Mastro, marketing directing of Lamborghini, said, “The Lamborghini Revuelto offers the peak of the emotions of a super sports car and the inclusion of the Sonus Faber audio system elevates this to an unparalleled experience.”
