Energy management and range prediction solution company Spark EV Technology has announced it will offer its technology on Android Automotive OS. The company claims the move will enable vehicle OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers to provide drivers of electric vehicles with accurate range predictions.
Spark’s system utilizes live data and machine learning algorithms tailored specifically for each vehicle to enable onboard range predictions for a wide array of EVs including e-bikes and e-trucks.
“Several customers are now moving to AAOS and have requested that our solutions support this platform,” commented Justin Ott, CEO and founder of Spark EV Technology. “Having completed development work, we are now moving to integrate Assure and Flow onto a live vehicle demonstrator in the next couple of months. This technology provides customers with the option to run our prediction engine and machine learning embedded on AAOS or via their cloud-based provider.”
Google’s Android Automotive OS has been adopted by several major car manufacturers including Volvo and Volkswagen, with many other OEMs expected to do the same soon.
“With many vehicle manufacturers moving toward electric products, as well as planning on using Android Automotive OS on their products in the future, Spark felt it was only natural to align our technology to this platform,” said Ott.
