Car manufacturers are increasingly pushing toward sustainable materials for interiors. OEMs are also exploring the use of natural materials for interior parts and fabrics. Wood is a material often associated with luxury. However, with increasing emphasis on green raw materials, wood is slowly disappearing from car interiors.
An innovative solution to this has been developed by Ligneos, which specializes in environmentally friendly wooden decorations. To understand the process and complexities behind the design and manufacturing process, we spoke to Ligneos sales engineer Francesco Terzi at Automotive Interiors Expo Europe last year to find out how the method preserves the tactile feel of natural materials.
